Methenolone Enanthate, commonly known as Primobolan, or just Primo, was first introduced for medical use in 1962 for the treatment of muscle wasting disease and anaemia due to bone marrow failure. Although it was widely used in the past, its use has mostly been discontinued in the medical field apart from Turkey and Spain and is now most commonly used among elite athletes and bodybuilders, with Arnold Schwarzenegger being a strong supporter of Primo. It carries one of the safest anabolic/androgenic ratings among all anabolic steroids, with moderate anabolic effects, weak androgenic effects, and no estrogenic effects or hepatoxicity (no risk of liver damage), making it the preferred choice among both male and female athletes. Primobolan is a DHT-derivative, and therefore, is an agonist of the androgen receptor and is not aromatized, producing no estrogenic side effects like gynecomastia, high blood pressure, and water retention/bloating.

What is Primobolan (Primo)?

Primobolan is a long-acting androgen and anabolic steroid that can be found in both injectable and oral tablet forms. It carries an anabolic/androgenic rating of 88/(44-57). It has a half-life of 10-14 days when it is injected intramuscularly. The injectable version is sometimes referred to as Primobolan Depot, as this was the name that was used to market the steroid in Europe in the 1960s and 70s after it was discontinued in the United States for medical use. Although Primo is slower-acting, users can expect to have mild, but long-lasting gains with minimal side effects. It is considered to be one of the “cleaner” steroids on the market. Some of the many benefits of Primo include moderate strength gains, increased speed and power, increased endurance, improved recovery, and the ability to maintain lean muscle mass during cutting cycles.

What is the recommended dosage?

The recommended dosage of Primobolan varies widely depending on who you talk to. In our opinion, a sensible dosage for most athletes is between 400-800mg per week for males. This is generally divided into 2-3 doses/week due to the lower concentration of the steroid. Typically, cycles of Primobolan are longer than other cycles since it is a slower-acting anabolic steroid. It can sometimes take up to 6 weeks for some users to begin seeing results. Therefore, it is recommended that a cycle of Primo be 12-16 weeks, with a maximum of 20 weeks.

Primobolan is an excellent choice for female athletes. The recommended dosage for females is 50-100mg/week for 6-8 weeks, with a maximum of 12 weeks. This can be taken in 1-2 injections/week.

What does Primobolan stack well with?

Primobolan stacks well with just about any injectable, oral, or combination thereof. It is most commonly stacked alongside any testosterone variety and trenbolone. For larger mass gains, Primo is commonly stacked with any testosterone variety along with Dianabol or Anadrol. For a leaner, harder look, Primo is commonly stacked with Testosterone and Turinabol, Anavar, or Winstrol.
